On the foot of Mt. Psiloritis, next to the archaeological site and beautiful museum that adorns the area… Serving coffee in the morning, traditional cuisine in the afternoon, and various Cretan appetizers with which to enjoy your traditional Raki drink in the evening.
In the mid 70’s. 7-year old Valia makes her first coffee for a customer, under the direction of her grandmother Filio “Vasilanaina”, while stepping on a stool to reach her.
At the beginning of 2017, we find Valia again, together with her husband George, in the same cafe, in the village square.
Ancient Eleutherna, was an ancient city-state in Crete, Greece, which lies 25 km southeast of Rethymno in Rethymno regional unit. Archaeologists excavated the site, located on a narrow northern spur of Mount Ida, the highest mountain in Crete. The site is about 1 km south of modern town of Eleftherna, about 8 km north east of Moni Arkadiou, in the current municipality of Rethymno.
